Overview

Phi Phi and James Bond Island by speedboat, the Krabi four-island tour, and sunsets from a hotel above Kata beach.

The Andaman Sea coast, which is where Thailand's scenery actually is. Limestone karsts straight out of the water, water in three shades of blue, and beaches that need a boat to reach.

Three nights in Phuket for Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay, then two in Krabi for the four-island tour and Railay. Both bases are beachfront, and the boat trips are on speedboats rather than the slower ferries.

Best between November and March. Sea conditions can cancel boat trips in the monsoon and we will always rebook or refund those.

Arrive in Phuket, sunset at Promthep Cape

Land at Phuket International and transfer to your hotel near Kata or Karon beach. Evening drive to Promthep Cape for sunset at the southern tip of the island, then dinner at a beachfront restaurant.

Phi Phi Islands by speedboat

A full-day speedboat trip to the Phi Phi group — Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave and Monkey Beach, with snorkelling stops and a buffet lunch on Phi Phi Don. Back by late afternoon.

Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island

North to Phang Nga Bay by speedboat for the limestone stacks, sea canoeing through the caves at Hong Island and the stop at Khao Phing Kan — James Bond Island. Lunch included. Evening free in Patong.

Phuket to Krabi

Check out and transfer to Krabi by road, around three hours. Check in at Ao Nang, then the afternoon on the beach and the evening on the Ao Nang strip.

Krabi four-island tour and Railay

A long-tail boat tour of Poda, Chicken, Tup and Phra Nang islands, with the sandbar between them exposed at low tide, snorkelling and lunch on the beach. Afternoon at Railay, reachable only by boat.

Beautiful, and well run

Phi Phi and Phang Nga were both stunning. The speedboats do get crowded in high season, which is nobody's fault, but the guides handled it well and lunch was better than expected.
