Arrive in Port Blair, Cellular Jail and the light show

Land at Veer Savarkar airport and check in. Afternoon at Corbyn's Cove beach, then the Cellular Jail national memorial and its evening light and sound show telling the story of the Indian independence movement.

Ferry to Havelock, Radhanagar at sunset

Morning cruise to Havelock — Swaraj Dweep — around two hours. Check in, then the afternoon at Radhanagar Beach, regularly ranked the best in Asia, for the sunset.

Elephant Beach snorkelling and a scuba dive

A boat to Elephant Beach for snorkelling over live coral, with a glass-bottom boat ride and a beach afternoon. Your introductory scuba dive to twelve metres is scheduled today with a PADI centre — no certification required.

Ferry to Neil Island

A short crossing to Neil — Shaheed Dweep — and check in. Bharatpur beach for snorkelling, Laxmanpur for sunset and the natural coral bridge at low tide.

Return to Port Blair, North Bay and Ross Island

Ferry back to Port Blair, then a boat to North Bay for glass-bottom boat coral viewing and Ross Island, the former British administrative headquarters now reclaimed by the forest and its deer.

A proper break

Palolem was exactly as described — quiet, clean, and a world away from the north. Two nights in the north first was the right call. The spice plantation lunch was a surprise favourite.
